Tasowheel Group’s history

Tasowheel Oy was transformed into Tasowheel Group Oy in 2010.  Former Tasowheel units are now three subsidiaries: Former Power transmission unit is Tasowheel Gears Oy, precision mechanics is Tasowheel Systems Oy and Fine mechanics is Tasowheel Tikka Oy. Although the titles changed remains the 30 years of history and experience.

1979 Taisto Sorjonen found Tasowheel Oy. The company was based in Tampere.
1981 Tasowheel Oy acquired its first CNC-machine.
1984 Move to a larger real estate in Hervanta, Tampere.
1985 The business was expanded to precision mechanics and actuators.
Tasowheel started to operate in the international markets.
1990 Tasowheel received a”Subcontractor of the year” award.
1992 ISO 9000 –quality standard was introduced.
1994 A company called Japamek from Tikkakoski became a part of Tasowheel Oy.
2002 Kari Sorjonen became the new CEO of the company.
Tasowheel Oy was divided into three business units: Power transmission, Precision mechanics and Fine mechanics.
2005 Tasowheel received an “Entrepreneur of the year” award.
Actuator production was centralized in Tampere units.
The unit in Tikkakoski was specialized in complex and precise machining.
2005 ISO 14001 –certificate was earned.
2006 The acquisition of Finngear Oy.
The acquisition of Katsa Oy’s actuator operations.
2007 “Family company of the year” award
2008 Finngear operations were integrated into Tasowheel, so the personnel and the capacity of the Power transmission unit were doubled.
The Precision mechanics unit moved to its own new premises.
2010 Tasowheel Group and its subsidiaries Tasowheel Gears Oy, Tasowheel Systems Oy and Tasowheel Tikka Oy were found.
